1. Information We Collect

We collect information to help you find your perfect match and enhance your experience on our platform. The types of data we may collect include:

• Personal Information: Name, gender, date of birth, religion, mother tongue, education, occupation, marital status, contact details, etc.
• Profile Information: Photographs, preferences, lifestyle details, family background, and partner expectations.
• Residency Details (members living outside India): The passport you hold, whether you hold an OCI card, your residency or visa status in your country of residence, the name of your visa or permit and when it is valid until, whether a spouse could work there, the year you moved, and your plans after marriage. We never ask for or store passport or visa numbers. Other members see these details on your profile, with the visa end date shown as a year only.
• Verification Documents: Aadhaar, PAN, passport, educational certificates, or any other ID provided for identity verification.
• Device & Usage Data: IP address, device type, browser used, time spent, and actions performed on our platform. In our Android app, this includes your device's advertising ID and, when you register, which ad or link led you to install the app (as reported by Google Play). Our website remembers how you arrived, for example from Instagram or a search, in your browser for 30 days so it can pass that on to the Play Store.
• Communication: Messages, feedback, support queries, or any other interaction with us.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used with the highest degree of respect and confidentiality. We use your information to:

• Create and manage your matrimonial profile
• Suggest suitable matches based on preferences
• Communicate important updates or service-related announcements
• Verify authenticity and protect against fraud or abuse
• Improve our services and user experience
• Meet legal and regulatory requirements

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

At Lakshminarayan Vivah, we do not sell or rent your personal data. We never share your profile, photographs, documents, name, phone number or email address with anyone for advertising. We believe that your information is yours alone, and we treat it with the utmost respect and responsibility.

We use a few service providers to run and measure the Service:

• Advertising measurement (Meta): Our Android app uses the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure how our ads on Facebook and Instagram perform. It shares your device's advertising ID and a few app events with Meta Platforms: that the app was installed or opened, that an account was registered, and that a membership was purchased, with the amount. It does not share your name, phone number, email address or any profile details. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your phone's settings.
• Website analytics: Our website uses the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics to count visits and to see which of our ads bring visitors (see section 9).
• App analytics and error reports: PostHog (usage analytics) and Sentry (crash reports) help us find and fix problems in the app.
• Payments: Razorpay and Apple process membership payments. We do not store your card or bank details.

We may also share your information:

• With other registered members for matchmaking purposes, as per your profile settings
• When required by law or government authorities to comply with legal obligations

4. Security of Your Information

We use industry-standard security measures to safeguard your personal data, including:

• Secure data encryption
• Access controls and authentication
• Regular audits and monitoring

However, while we strive to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. We urge you to maintain confidentiality of your login credentials and report any suspicious activity.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Update or correct your profile information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out of promotional communication at any time

6. Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by applicable laws. Upon deletion of your account, we may retain minimal information for record-keeping or legal obligations.

Our services are intended strictly for individuals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us immediately.
